This week in "I Wanna Be Skinny" ...
Steph and I both had a few days last week where we ate whatever the hell we wanted. It involved cakes, chinese food, tacos, burgers, one or two peanut butter twix and cinnamon toast crunch. Shockingly we both lost weight. On Friday I did reach my goal of -4 lbs, but this morning I was only down 3lbs (boo that shit). Steph came close to her goal and lost 2lbs which i think is pretty damn good since she has a little one to watch, a hubs that seems to love to sabotage her plans, not to mention she was baking all weekend.
Our Goals for this week....
Steph: To do Cardio every day this week.
Beks: To do Cardio every day this week ( in the hopes that i drop another 4lbs)
we'll see what happens.

The Bet's Still On!
So Steph and I are still in this bet. She's dropped and kept off 14 lbs so far and I've lost 9. We've both gone down a solid size and after illness, ungodly PMS and the men we live with trying to convince us to eat doughnuts, chinese food and ice cream -- and at times succeeding ( T and I ended up at McDonalds at 2 am last week) Steph and I are both learning some useful stuff in terms of losing weight and keeping it off.
1. I feel like ass balls when I don't workout which is kind of a nice feeling.
2. Neither of us have gone down even a millimeter in our bustal-area. Neither of us really know how to feel about that. Also my butt has gotten bigger. I don't know how that works, but whatever
3. Neither of us can stomach fast-food beef anymore. It makes us both sick. I can also never eat more than a slice of pizza without feeling sick
4. Grapefruit. Such an untapped resource.
And now im just rambling.

Weekly check in (brought to you by steph)
Beks and I decided that we would do these weekly check ins, I mean, other than all the trash talk goin on in texts, gchat sessions, or tweets that is...And because Mother Nature is trying to do her in at the moment, I'm posting this, our first actually, week's update.
I'm happy to announce that I lost a whopping 8 lbs. And that is with mini constantly holding forks and spoons my way with deliciously evil things I can't eat saying "Bite?" Or watching late night foodnetwork where all I do is drool over what is being made. I'm proud of my self control. Especially since my SIL who decided to start a diet around the same time as me recently admitted she gained 8 lbs. WTF?
Beks, despite being bloaty and crampy and bleeding from her monthly "friend" has lost 3 lbs. Very impressive since msot of the time she's demanding a cookie or something while she suffers. She even got her work out on. I'm amazed. I have quite a lot to live up to when AF pays me a visit. She'll need to do a post period weigh in and see just how much her "time of the month" screwed up her check in. Sometimes being a woman sucks.
And in case you were wondering, Beks really wants a Cowboys #88 jersey. I think she deserves one since her ovaries are trying to kill her from the inside out and she can't eat chocolate to help. Don't you?
All in all, we are both feeling a lot slimmer and just all around healthier as we cut out the unnecessary sweets, fats, carbs, etc in order to have a better diet/lifestyle.
Still though, how can I resist a little taunting when given the opportunity?
Oh Beks! You know you want some...

Going to the movie and I wanna wear my new jeans...
I sang the title to this post to the tune of "Going to the chapel" if you wanted to know, haha, but I am inspired by Beks and Steph and their ultra-competitive weight loss plan! I bought myself some jeans last month that were ridiculously low priced and barely fit on my ass so I have to have a plan for getting into them and actually being able to breath. Honestly, the muffin top sitch in these pants is colossal!
SO, what's a girl to do? Well, the hubs is following a new workout so I think I will find one to follow as well. And got to work on the food situation! School has got my diet all a mess, so I definitely need to focus on that too. My goal for the next week is to work out at least 4 times and to eat better, cooking more healthy meals at home. Maybe I can get Gusta in on my goal to fit into my fancy pants!
And just to give myself some more motivation I am going to post a pic of myself in the pants now, so that when I lose weight I can post a pic with me in the pants WITHOUT the muffin, fat-roll! Pardon the bright flash. Beks thinks my face exploded but it didn't. I dropped the camera and sort of broke it, so its not up to its normal capabilities!

New Moon Weight Loss Battle Royale
Lipsmacked vs 4theluvofmary
In the interest of actually losing weight and not just talking about how nice it would be ... Steph and I have enter into a little weight loss wager. taking into consideration our age, height and current weight we decided on reasonable goals... with a perfect deadline.
the plan: go down two sizes by the time New Moon is released on November 20th
the prize: winner gets a pair of brand new jeans
the IFs: if we both drop the two sizes we've decided to exchange moderately priced adult novelty items
If one of us goes down more than two sizes the prizes will include:
2 sizes: jeans and a copy of Diana Gabaldon's Lord John and the Private Matter
3 sizes: jeans, a copy of Diana Gabaldon's Lord John and the Private Matter and a moderately priced adult novelty item
and ( i sorta hope this wont happen)
4 sizes: jeans, a copy of Diana Gabaldon's Lord John and the Private Matter, a moderately priced adult novelty item and a silly Twilight shirt of the winners choosing from Cafepress of Zazzle.com
Either way ... winner takes all. the both of us have ultimate weight loss goals that go beyond two sizes, but we thought this would be a fun way to jump start things and an excuse to talk smack to each other on twitter. we will check in with each other every Friday to track our progress.
Feel free to join us in any way that feels right to YOU!

Back In Action ... Sorta
GUESS WHO LOST AND GAINED 11LBs?!?!??
ME
I kept looking this tab in my blogger feed thinking maybe I should update... maybe that'll motivate me. So far I don't exactly feel like going for a ten mile run, BUT I do think keeping on top of this would be a good thing. I hope Erica agrees.
New Goal: Wear earrings.
My mom, ever since I was 12, would ALWAYS tell me to wear earrings every single time I left the house. I was raging tomboy so I saw no need, but in an overall effort to "feel pretty" - I'm going to try it out.
I was cleaning out my purse this morning and two pairs of earrings I had shoved in a side pocket fell out. While putting those away I found a cute pair of mini CZs that I got from Claire's. I'm still tomboy enough to no want to rock real diamonds.
So now I'm wearing a pair of mini CZs and I must admit -- I do feel prettier.
We'll see what happens tomorrow.
Workout Jam of the Day (if I do indeed workout) : Ting Tings: That's not my Name.

New You Goal!
I was thinking on our quest to whatever fitness level we are seeking, one way we can get there would be to set little goal for ourselves. Sometimes it's easy to say "I am going to lose 30 lbs. this year" but actually getting there is another story.
So, as a way to start on our path we should all give ourselves a goal to meet this week only. Maybe you, like me, had chips and dip for lunch and you want to eat a healthy lunch everyday this week. Or maybe you serve your family KFC on paper plates and they think it a home cooked meal. There is no blaming in the previous statement. Trust me. But perhaps you want to cook a healthy dinner 4 nights this week.
MY goal for this week is to work out at least 4 times, for at least 30 minutes. I usually do a treadmill/weights combo. Nothing fancy.
UPDATE: It was Jon Stewart and I tonight did some crunches, weights and a little treadmill tonight, two down and 2 to go!
Join me in my goal setting and in your comments let us know what you want to do this week. Your goal and how you want to meet it. It always helps to have someone to be accountable to!
LIPSMACKED (just piggyback on A's post): Okay I'm adding to A-bombs goal. My goal is for tomorrow... I want to get up, before work and work out. And then my goal for Tuesday will be the same thing. I'll take it one day at a time and just see how that works out.
I also want to drink more water tomorrow cause water makes me feel good.

Simmons Says...
I know I'm no Richard Simmons (frankly, glitter spandex scares me), but the only way I will work out is if I'm motivated. Every April my fridge is covered in photos of me when I was 20lbs lighter and sporting a six-pack, not the remnants of a mini keg from New Years. I will go back to reciting the wise words of Miss Piggy, "Never eat more than you can lift", and stop convincing myself that sizes aren't running smaller this season as compared to last. Sigh. A girl can dream, right?
This is my game plan again this year, at least until someone can show me how to make my refrigerator moo whenever I open it.
Great "Good for you" Food
I have posted a little sidebar where I will put links to good tasting healthy foods. If you have any tips for me, let me know. I am always on the lookout for new recipes!
I really like Ellie Krieger's show on Food Network, Healthy Appetite, because she makes food that is tasty without using a lot of highly processed ingredients. She focuses on portions control and using lower calorie ingrediants when appropriate. Her Fish Tacos with Chipotle Cream are amazing! A little spicy with tons of flavor. And for breakfast she has a Vanilla Spice Oatmeal that makes breakfast delicious! She makes healthy eating and cooking enjoyable!

My Work-Out of Choice (until I change my mind again)...
In my short time on Planet Beks, I've lost a combined 70lbs, give or take, just walking. Last year I lost a good big strolling down the streets of L.A. in the early morning. I personally cannot do the treadmill. I get bored looking at a fixed point. In college I did get up every morning and watch back to back episodes of Saved By the Bell while working out, but I have found that getting outside worked better for me.
I fell off the work-out wagon and I am trying to get back on and stay on. So for now, its walking, dodging garbage trucks and run-away buses. We'll see how it turns out.
My jam of the day is definitely "Blame It" By Jamie Foxx ft. T-Pain. The video is awesome. Check it out, then sweat to it.

Welcome to the club!
So, we all think we could lose a few pounds or would like to fit back into that one fabulous outfit we love, right? Maybe we've had a baby, or maybe we just love dessert. I mean really, who would choose sit-ups over a sundae? Not me that's for sure. But I do want to be healthy and look a little better than I do now. And I know I am not alone. So, I figured the best way to keep myself on track is to get some buddies on the quest with me to help keep me honest. We can work together, chat about work outs, share yummy healthy recipes.
But I want to stay positive. I know it's easy to start complaining about how much you weigh or how big your booty is (not that it's a bad thing if it is) and I want to avoid that. We are pretty, we are gorgeous, smart women. And it's important to keep that in mind. Not to sound like a motivational poster but we are awesome!
If you are interested, then join us. Come along for the ride and maybe we can learn a little from each other but at the very least have a lot of fun!
